Elerthe, once a mighty druid and adept shapeshifter, was led down a dark path by the belief that she was betrayed by her closest allies. Her consciousness now resides in the nightmare, damning her to an existence of fear, confusion, and hatred.

From the successful downing of the Dragons of Nightmare, The Kung Foo Monkey Badgers pressed on toward the portal to Mulgore. Very little stood in our way, so little in fact that we decided to fight some of the wildlife on the way down the hill, just to keep us sharp!
As we descended further toward our target we briefly engaged in skirmishes with Shadowfeather, a large, vicious bird, and Nightmother, an angry Spider. We paid little attention to these "inconveniences", not realising how relevant they would be to what lie before us.
We approached Elerethe Renferal slowly. Our initial plan was to try to return her to her former self, without violence, and have her fight against the corruption within her to rejoin the alliance in the Battle against the Legion.

We implored Elerethe to return to us, attempting to convince her that her beliefs of her allies betrayal were false and that the corruption could be undone if she just listened to us. Unfortunately, our attempts failed and we were left with no other option, but to attack...
Fenrice, hurtled towards the corrupt Druid and drew her away from the advancing army to allow them to attack from the rear. She quickly realised our tactic and in an attempt to counter it, poisoned Ronnar and Xeranis before shooting a web to the sky and ascending to the ceiling.
Reinforcements, in the shape of Spiderlings, filled the room and were swiftly dealt with as Elerethe rejoined the battle. Venom was beginning to fill the small overhang we inhabited and it would not be long before it was completely covered, likely bringing death to all engulfed by it. The ferocity of the fight increased, as the fear intensified, the venom forcing us closer and closer to the edge of the platform.
With and almighty screech and a cracking of bone and sinew Elerethe shapeshifted into a mighty Roc. Even in her corrupt state, the winged creature she had now become was a glory to behold, yet no less deadly.
The giant bird flapped her wings forcing our army further and further away from her, nearer to the platform edge and imminent death. Peregrinum was the first to fall and Decee soon followed, this surprise attack had caught us off guard and our healers had paid the price in blood. Accepting that this form of attack would bear no more fruit, Elerethe fled toward another ledge. Undetered and without pause, the Kung Foo Monkey Badgers pursued her. Some clambered over the webbing that adorned the chamber, others leapt across aided by the feathers left from the scuffle, but no matter how it was done, our army reengaged the target swiftly.
Peregrinum was able to rejoin the party, thanks to the power of our Druid, Curze, and we pressed on. As the battle went on, our enemy once again became an Arachnid and called for the assistance of her kin. This time however, we had the upperhand, Renferal had exhausted all her tricks, we were wise to all that she had and used this knowledge to our advantage.

Fatigue began to set in, for both us and our corrupted enemy, which led to further losses. Once again she soared to another platform and we deftly followed, leaving our fallen comrades, Bushski and Khafiz behind. As we grouped again on the new platform, we could see that our healers were nearing the end of their power, they needed some help, but how?
Whilst still conducting the battle our Tanks orchestrated a "swap and save"; Phteven took the attention of the boss away from Fenrice, freeing him up to run back to the previous platform to return Bushski from the grave and bolster the weakening healing party. It would prove to be the deciding move of the battle, as Bushski returned to aid us for the final push that saw us defeat this once proud and heroic Shapeshifter.

Another victory for the Kung Foo Monkey Badgers! Well done to all who took part and a special mention to me, for finally downing a boss whilst still alive!
